Nubia Tarazona brings over two decades of experience in public education to her role as Acting Superintendent of Gadsden Independent School District. A proud bilingual educator, Ms. Tarazona is deeply committed to equity, language access, and culturally responsive leadership.
Before her appointment as Acting Superintendent, she served as the district’s Director of Language, Equity, and Cultural Arts, where she led initiatives that supported multilingual learners and elevated inclusive practices across schools. Her leadership journey has included key roles such as Executive Director of Bilingual Education and Community Outreach for Las Cruces Public Schools, and principal, assistant principal, and instructional specialist across multiple elementary campuses.
Ms. Tarazona holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Educational Management and Administration from New Mexico State University. She also holds Level III administrative licensure in New Mexico and is certified as both an Instructional Leader K–8 and Administrative Leader PK–12. Her experience spans classroom instruction, district leadership, and higher education, having taught bilingual education and sheltered instruction courses at NMSU.
Throughout this transition period, Ms. Tarazona’s focus is to unify the district’s leadership and staff around shared values of service, inclusion, and student success. Her vision is rooted in community partnership and strengthening opportunities for every child in the Gadsden ISD region.
